If you’re an experienced provider who enjoys practicing independently and wants a consistent four-day workweek, this could be an excellent fit.

No nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities
Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
Time to provide thoughtful, individualized patient care
The ability to practice evidence-based medicine
A transparent care model with no insurance billing, production quotas, or referral pressures
Support from Medcor’s clinical and operational leadership
The opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients and client partners
A work environment where positive health outcomes come first
About the Role
As the onsite NP or PA, you’ll provide comprehensive healthcare services through a combination of in-person and telemedicine visits.
Your practice will include preventive care, wellness services, acute and chronic disease management, urgent and episodic care, occupational injury and illness management, and medical surveillance and regulatory examinations. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while delivering evidence-based care in a supportive, collaborative worksite environment.
This position includes providing urgent care services to eligible employee dependents ages 5 and older.
You will practice independently onsite with the support of a remote Medcor Oversight Physician. You’ll also collaborate closely with Medcor’s Clinical Affairs and Operations teams, as well as client stakeholders, to promote employee health, workplace safety, and positive clinical outcomes.
What You’ll Do
A typical day may include:
Providing comprehensive primary care through in-person and telemedicine visits, including preventive care, annual wellness exams, health screenings, immunizations, and health promotion services.
Assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and other episodic health concerns for adult patients and, when applicable, pediatric patients ages 5 and older.
Managing chronic health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and other common medical conditions.
Delivering urgent and episodic care, including evaluating, stabilizing, and coordinating care for patients who require a higher level of care or emergency transport.
Performing and interpreting diagnostic testing, including point-of-care testing, laboratory services, and health risk assessments.
Providing patient education, health coaching, and lifestyle counseling focused on nutrition, weight management, tobacco cessation, fitness, sleep health, stress management, and overall wellness.
Coordinating care with primary care providers, specialists, hospitals, employee assistance programs, and other community healthcare resources.
Assessing and treating occupational injuries and illnesses.
Conducting occupational health services, including medical surveillance programs, regulatory examinations, hearing conservation, vision screening, respirator fit testing, and drug and alcohol testing.
Managing return-to-work and workers’ compensation programs in collaboration with the client and third-party administrator.
Supporting workplace wellness, health promotion, and preventive health initiatives.
Collaborating with client Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, and other key stakeholders to promote employee health and workplace safety.
Participating in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning.
Maintaining timely, accurate documentation and clinical records using Medcor’s electronic medical record systems.
As the sole onsite provider, you will deliver direct patient care while also supporting the day-to-day clinical and operational activities of the health center. Responsibilities include patient intake, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, occupational health services, inventory and supply management, scheduling coordination, and general clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
To be considered, you must have:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or a master’s degree from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
Active, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Because this position provides care to pediatric patients ages 5 and older, candidates must possess the education, training, certification, and clinical experience necessary to independently evaluate and treat pediatric patients within their scope of practice.
Current DEA registration.
Current BLS and CPR certification.
A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience practicing independently in a primary care setting, including autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions across a broad patient population.
Experience using electronic medical records and other clinical technology.
Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote clinical and operational teams.
Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergencies.
A patient-focused approach and commitment to exceptional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
We’d especially like to hear from providers with:
Additional primary care experience beyond the minimum qualifications.
Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, occupational health, employee health, or a related clinical setting.
Experience managing workplace injuries, workers’ compensation cases, medical surveillance programs, and regulatory examinations.
Experience working independently in an employer-based, onsite, or occupational health clinic setting.
