Schedule: PRN / As Needed | 12-Hour Shifts | Clinic Hours: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, 7 Days/Week
Pay: $30.00–$31.00/hour based on experience
Medcor is looking to hire a Paramedic on a PRN (as-needed) basis to work as a Worksite Health Technician at our occupational health clinic located at the San Diego Zoo in San Diego, CA.
This is a unique opportunity for a Paramedic looking to use their clinical and emergency response skills outside of a traditional ambulance or 911 environment. You’ll provide hands-on patient care in an employer-based clinic while working closely with Medcor’s clinical and operational teams.
This is a PRN position with no guaranteed hours. The clinic operates from 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, seven days a week, with 12-hour shifts available on an as-needed basis. If you're looking to supplement your current schedule and have availability to occasionally pick up shifts, we encourage you to apply!
What You’ll Do
As a Worksite Health Technician, you’ll help support the health and safety of employees while providing high-quality care in an onsite occupational health environment.
A typical shift may include:
Assessing and treating workplace injuries and illnesses using Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs)
Providing onsite first aid and clinical care
Supporting workers’ compensation case management
Facilitating Return-to-Work (RTW) programs and monitoring treatment plans
Coordinating with outside medical providers when necessary
Performing pre-employment and post-offer screenings
Supporting onsite employee health and wellness initiatives
Completing Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
Documenting patient care using electronic medical records (EMR)
Maintaining accurate medical charts and OSHA records
Collaborating with Medcor leadership, client contacts, and local medical providers
Providing excellent service to our client and their employees
What You’ll Need
Current Paramedic license/certification required
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using computers, EMR systems, and other technology
Ability to lift and carry a 50-pound emergency response bag
A positive, professional, and patient-focused approach
Ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical and operational teams
It’s a Plus If You Have
Occupational health or worksite clinic experience
Emergency medicine, EMS, or critical care experience
Experience with workers’ compensation, case management, or OSHA recordkeeping
Comfort working in a unique worksite clinic environment at a zoo
